direct rendering: No == Don’t worry!

I noticed that even getting a direct rendering: No, the 3D foobillard game worked pretty well. So I just figured out why my glxinfo has shown that false information:

tiago@thinkpad:~$ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
libGL: XF86DRIGetClientDriverName: 1.7.2 i915 (screen 0)
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so
libGL error: dlopen /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so failed (/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
libGL error: unable to find driver: i915_dri.so
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: No

Then…

tiago@thinkpad:~$ ln -s /usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so
tiago@thinkpad:~$ glxinfo |grep "direct rendering"
direct rendering: Yes

My system: Debian Etch, linux-2.6.18, xorg 7.1.0-9, IBM Thinkpad X40, Intel 82852/855GM

shouldn’t you report a bug against some x.org related Debian package?
